Starting out on a journey of writing certainly isn’t easy. Frankly, it’s a lot of hard work that can be overwhelming. I know from my own experience that I was constantly weighed down by the success of more popular authors, feeling that my writing wasn’t good enough, stressing over whether or not people would want to hear the stories I so badly wanted to tell. It wasn’t until later that I realized that my stories mattered. That my voice had an impact. That I deserved to be heard.
And you do too.
Your writing matters. Whenever you feel down, whenever you feel that your writing isn’t good enough, remember that you deserve to be heard. You have an incredible story to tell, so tell it.
God has your back, and He always will. He created you fearfully and wonderfully in His image (“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14), and here you are, creating as He did. He wants you to succeed, so there’s no doubt that you’ll pull through when times get rough. You will succeed! God has your back!
“No one else sees the world the way you do, so no one else can tell the stories that you have to tell.” – Charles de Lint
