I have been writing stories now for a while, and have only grown to love the craft more and more as I get older. If you asked me, I would say that I didn’t get serious about my writing until early 2020, when the idea of simply ‘writing’ shifted toward the art of storytelling.
The fantasy genre has always fascinated me, as I grew up with these stories strewn about the bookshelves in my home. So, obviously, this is the route I chose. Even more than the sweepingly vast realms of fantasy stories, the mere thought of dragons captivated me – and even further still, the question: who rides a dragon?
These thoughts, followed by my writing experiences, have altered the way I tell stories. My simple, powerful journey has not only led me to start my first full-length novel, but has also altered the way I think about.
A random fact about my writing life is that sci-fi screeches into second place when it comes to my favorite genres to write. I like the technology, the question of, “what could advanced technology accomplish?” However, you may have guessed, I enjoy adding fantasy-like twists into my sci-fi stories. Another random fact is that, coming in third place, is comedy! My humorous stories always revolve around…not-so-smart…individuals navigating problems. I’d say the reason I like this the most, is that the stories are all heart and laughter, and I’m not required to use my brain to solve hard problems like I do with fantasy or sci-fi.
Well, there’s a little about me.
All the best,
Joseph.
P.S. If I get enough requests for it, I’ll make a blog post with a PDF containing a hilarious story attached.
